Welcome |
Millions of Americans and people world wide, have a disease called Fibromyalgia, and sometimes the accompanying Chronic Myofascial Pain Syndrome. Unfortunately, most of these people have lived miserable lives with little or no understanding or consideration from the medical, scientific and government communities. Family, friends and co-workers have a difficult time understanding the problems of the FMS sufferer, because the person looks normal. |
After years of mistreatment, misdiagnosis and neglect, the scientific and medical communities are beginning to recognize the dynamics of FMS, and are starting to appreciate it for the catastrophic and debilitating disease for which it is. |
Getting started on the road to a healthier and happier life for FMS sufferers, means being able to describe the signs and symptoms they have been experiencing, psychologically and physically; it also means finding a physician that is knowledgeable about FMS and MPS, and is willing to work with you to taylor a treatment plan that is suited just for you. |
At this time, there is a lot to be hopeful for, if you or someone you know has been diagnosed with FMS. Progress is being made right now, through research and development of medications, and to gain better understanding of the origin of these complicated syndromes. The Social Security Administration has recently issued a ruling, referred to as SSR-99-2p, which states that FMS and CFS are "medically determinable impairments", that identifies FMS by it's signs and symptoms, and will directly affect how private insurance companies and Social Security disability benefits are handled. Due to increasing study and research, pathophysiological diagnostic criteria is being identified; clinical diagnostic testing will be the norm in the near future. |
The purpose of this site is to: Help identify and describe signs and symptoms of FMS and MPS, identify diagnostic criteria, give up-to-date news and findings related to FMS and MPS, provide a forum for people to share their experiences and showcase their profiles, provide general information on FMS and MPS to patients, friends and relatives, share coping strategies, provide information about support groups and organizations, provide information on work, disability benefits and treatments. |
This site is a short cut to information, products and services that will help make life easier, reduce stress, enhance knowledge, give choices and discounts to any population of people that want them; finding resources for the FMS/MPS sufferer, can be an excruciating task for family and patients alike. I hope that this site will help answer questions and solve problems. There is a contest page, just for fun, and will feature contests that use automatic entering for ease of use and well organized contest page sites. |
Enjoy yourself here, and come often. |

Please come and look around. We have information to help you find a physician that can treat your FMS/MPS, or use this information to help educate your own physician. Print out the article under "Links", for family/friends, and give it to the ones you love, and the ones you don't love, (like your boss). Read about the medications that help FMS/MPS, and talk with your doctor about them; the more you know about how to treat your FMS and it's symptoms, the sooner you will start feeling better and get back into life again. When you feel better, you must check out the web sites under "Resources"; they will help you do your own search for information. Knowledge is power; when you have FMS, no one else can help you like you can! I hope you enjoy the "Shopping Mall" and the "Health and Beauty" services and products, which are picked to help you find what you want and what you need, to make life less stressful and all in one place. Please e-mail me below, if you would like to see other things here. Send your profile, with pictures, e-mail or regular mail. Let's see the faces and stories of others that are surviving FMS. |
Thank You, |

(I have used the Galvanic Stimulator for 6 years, and find it invaluable for severe pain. Talk with your doctor about this treatment and if it is right for you. If your doctor gives you the okay, have him write you a prescription for the Galvanic Stimulator, adding what it is for, then revisit him in a month and have him write in your chart the results you are having.
